China - We don't want Google and Google Plus

When I want to find information, I went to fortune teller. Is that common? Yeah, maybe for nuts. No offence nuts. For me, when I want to find information, I went to Uncle G. Yeah, what's with the face? My uncle knows everything. Well, almost everything. Enough with the blabbering. What I want to share with you today is about news that China had banned Google Plus, which is the new social networking sites that has just being launched recently

We know that China has already banned Google website in their country. Reason? You might want to keep it to yourself if you knew about it. Back to the topic, could you believe this? I want my China' s girlfriend in my Google Plus profile. Liu Kim Ching, don't be sad. We still have Facebook. That is one case, how's about other 1 billion people in China. How's about their girlfriend and boyfriend. Are they going to be deprived the rights to have relationship with people in other country. I don't think so. But, nonetheless, the citizen can't do anything about it. Hope that China will consider on this for the sake of my love.

Singapore - The No Chewing Gum Country

Yeah, I share the same thought. Too bad for me because I love chewing gum. I considered it as a brain jumper since it helps me to think and also a way to exercise my mouth. Tourism is a vital part of Singapore's economy. For that, it have to execute measures that will make Singapore as one of an interesting place to be visited. So, cleanliness of the country has been taken seriously by the authority. You can be fined up to $50 if you litter on the street and chewing gum can get you into trouble.

This chewing gum ban arises when Singapore executed their Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project which is worth of $5 billion. Then, it was reported that the vandals have been sticking the chewing gum on the door sensors of MRT trains, that causes a disruption to the train services. Later on, it has been decided that, chewing gum is banned in Singapore. Click this link to read more on this.

Despite of that, Wrigley managed to squeeze their way in but they are only allowed to sell medicinal chewing gum and the buyer's name will be taken. So, if you want to visit Singapore next time, I suggests you to leave your chewing gum back at home.

Malaysia - How do we accept compliments

We give compliments if we think a person deserves it. Usual response is the person will thank you for it. In Malaysia, we love to be modest. They will give an alternate response such as It's not that great actually, I'm just being lucky and etc.

It might be considered rude in other country for not accepting a compliment given by others but that is just the way they are in Malaysia. But bare in mind, it does not mean that the person is not accepting the compliment.

This is not only the culture in Malaysia but in other Eastern countries too such as China. So, in the future, if you encountered that sort of event, you can understand the nature of it. If you are interested to read more in this topic I suggest you to click this link.

New Zealand - Unique Give Way Rule For Driver

What’s up guys, in this post I want to share with you about the unique give way rule in New Zealand. I have travel to NZ before and what I can say is NZ is a wonderful place. It’s very beautiful and clean. During my visit, we have travel to a lot of interesting places such as Queenstown and Rotorua. We travel by car which we rented it from local car rental center.

Then, we have notice something about the way New Zealander drove their car, which after that we ask the local students to explain about it. It’s very important for those that wanted to drive in NZ to know about this. You don’t want to involve in serious crash at the intersections. 

The Give Way rules

Giving way means you are giving other road users the chance to use the road before you use it. The rule applies at all intersections where there are no traffic signals, Give Way sign, Stop sign or police officers directing traffic. They also apply for:

• two vehicles are coming towards each other and both are at Stop signs
• two vehicles are coming towards each other and both are at Give Way signs
• Two vehicles are coming towards each other and both have a green traffic signal.

What are the Give Way rules?

• If you are turning at an intersection, give way to all vehicles not turning.
• If you are turning left at an intersection, give way to vehicles coming towards you that are turning right.
• In all other situations, give way to all vehicles coming from your right.
• If you are leaving the path of a marked center line, you are deemed to be turning and must give way to vehicles that are following the center line.

For example, in Malaysian home, you are not allowed to wear your shoes in the house. It differs to Western country such as USA that practises that culture. So, when an American tourist come to Malaysia and is due to visit a Malaysian home, maybe this will give you a problem. In short, that is what the blog is all about. To give you a basic knowledge on the culture of a country so that you can avoid facing any problem. Maybe this blog is not a sole provider of the knowledge you wanted but at least it can give you a glimpse of it.

I hope with every post in this blog, it will add up your knowledge because some of the culture is very interesting. You cant say which culture is the best because each of us has their own identity. That makes the world is an interesting place.
